3 Steps to Get Started:
1. Try A Free Intro
It’s really easy to get started. No matter your fitness level or background, all that is absolutely necessary to start training is an open mind and a commitment to the program.
You’ve already taken some time to read what we are about. We’ve explained how our program can produce remarkable results and is scalable to suit all fitness levels. Maybe you’re just not sure you believe it, or not sure you will “fit in” once you get to the facility. That’s perfectly understandable, and you are not the only one who has felt that way.
The first class is free and if you don’t like it, all it cost you was an hour of your time and at the very least, you will get a great workout. However, if you don’t try it, you could be missing an opportunity that could be life-changing.
Are you willing to take that chance? Depending on your comfort level, we can schedule an individual fitness evaluation for you, or you could bring a friend and do it together. During this evaluation, you can meet the trainers, learn what we do at Root 18 CrossFit, share your goals and concerns, and if it turns out you want to give it a try for a few months, we can help you find a membership plan that works for you. If you come from an athletic background and are highly active, we could also bring you in for a quick orientation and let you participate in one of our group workouts instead – to really get a taste for the camaraderie and energy of a group WOD. This is something you will have to see to believe!
Come by and join us for a free intro, nothing we say will make much sense until you do it. Fill out our form below and find out when the next intro class is scheduled!
2. Once you have completed your Free Intro get signed up for the Foundations Course
If you decide that Root 18 CrossFit is something you’d like to try, sign up for our Foundations classes. We offer both semi-private classes and personal 1-on-1 Foundations training.
During the Foundations course we are going to want to know a little more about you. We will be conducting assessments in order to understand you, your personal goals, current health, concerns or up and coming competitions. Once we have some understanding of your needs, we can help you achieve your goals.
Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive understanding of the Root 18 program.
We’ll introduce, refine and technique and discuss range of motion requirements for the following movements:
Squats: air squat, front squat, overhead squat, back-squat
Presses: shoulder press, push press, push jerk
Power movements: deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull, ball clean
Olympic movements: clean and jerk, snatch
Gymnastics: pull-up, push-ups, burpees, ring dips, muscle-ups, Handstands, L-sits etc.
Other common movements: thrusters, wall ball, kettlebell swings, rowing, box jumps, jump roping.
Please understand that all movements have modifications and we are happy to work with all abilities.
Personal “VIP” 1-on-1 Foundations
This 1-on-1 personal training is designed to give you the maximum attention and will be tailored to your capacity and abilities.
The Program will be taught over 4 separate 1 hour sessions, by a certified Root 18 CrossFit Coach. Sessions are available throughout the week.
3. JOIN GROUP CLASSES
Once you have completed our Foundations Course, you are now ready to jump in the group workouts!
If you are already familiar with CrossFit methodologies and have trained in another certified location, you may be eligible for Root 18 CrossFit’s Test-Out option. We offer a 30 minute private session with our trainers to review your fitness level and knowledge of CrossFit. If you are able to demonstrate competency in CrossFit movements, you may wish to consider this Test-Out opportunity. The cost for this 30 minute session is $35 per person. If you pass, the fee will be subtracted from your first months membership.
